Nutanix has announced new capabilities for its platform as part of his lecture .next 2016. With the added functionality IT silos encountered with each new generation of applications are eliminated, achieving a balance between the needs of developers and operators, and consolidates the different layers of IT solution providers.
Since the inaugural conference held .next a year ago, Nutanix has grown from a provider hyper-converged infrastructure with a single product, to be a company with a broad platform.
Among the new capabilities that have been presented in 2016 .next include Acropolis Container Services (ACS). Both applications containerized and emerging architectures microservices can now be implemented in the Nutanix persistent storage platform, avoiding the need to use virtualization for applications that require persistent storage, and containers for others.
Thus, both traditional applications such as next generation can leverage storage performance and data protection capabilities of Nutanix-scale web platform.
While most services are now virtualized and go moving containers, certain applications such as Oracle RAC and DB2 could continue to run on bare metal servers due to the specific needs of the application or license agreements. Acropolis Block Services (ABS) allows the databases that run on Cisco, Dell, Lenovo servers and directly leverage HPE Acropolis Distributed Fabric Storage for higher performance and data availability.
Moreover, the All-Flash nodes are already available in the full range of appliances Nutanix to offer a greater choice of infrastructure and application performance assurance.
Nutanix cloud platform: Opting for visibility
Nutanix also offers Nutanix Enterprise Cloud Platform to allow data centers achieve the same degree of public cloud automation. The new self-service capabilities of Prism Nutanix enable developers and operators to provide and manage applications and associated resources to infrastructure.
In addition to planning with a single click, Prism includes a sophisticated model based on scenarios, based on machine intelligence X-Fit company, so data center administrators can foresee the impact that changes in the environment IT will have on the performance and application availability.
Data center operators will also benefit from simpler operations as a result of the new dynamic planning AHV. This capability enables intelligent placement of virtual machines, relying for it not only in the analysis of computing and memory resources, but also in the real-time analysis of storage usage.
A new integrated network visualization capability provides a complete overview of how virtual machines are connected to the physical and virtual networks, simplifying the remediation of network problems.
Nutanix Enterprise Cloud Platform can be integrated with any platform using their APIs. With support for multiple hypervisors and containers, the platform can be easily used to build a complete cloud solution, leveraging the value of other specialized solutions.
- Drivers Nutanix OpenStack, which simplify building private clouds through the OpenStack software.
- A solution designed in conjunction with Microsoft and Microsoft Cloud Platform combines System (CPS) and Nutanix Enterprise Cloud Platform to deliver a hybrid cloud environment.
- In its next version, Nutanix Prism will be able to manage VMware ESXi environments, carrying the same simplicity of management at VMware, comparable with the integrated management of hypervisor Acropolis (AHV). Thus Nutanix carry out the integrated management of virtual machines from your Management Console Prism.
“A true cloud platform offers consumers an experience of operations and level of consumption in all applications, while allowing partners and users to co-create value”, said Sunil Potti, Chief Product & Development Officer of Nutanix.
“Nutanix is the only company able to elevate IT to develop quickly and safely workloads, whether virtual, physical and the next generation of native cloud, in a single, simple and intelligent platform that partners can expand and which customers can really trust”, he adds.
